Sunday School
Sunday School at Forks UCC offers an engaging and enjoyable way for children to explore the Bible! Using the Simply Loved curriculum from Group, we create a welcoming one-room classroom environment. Our activities are thoughtfully tailored to be both fun and meaningful for children of all ages.
Our program runs from the first Sunday after Labor Day through the second Sunday in June. Sunday School takes place during our 10am Worship services after the Children’s Message and is open to all children aged 3 through sixth grade.
Our Sunday School usually begins with the children locating the weekly Bible verses in their Bibles, reading them aloud, and then engaging with the lesson, which is presented by our teachers in creative and understandable ways. Following the Bible lesson, the children participate in hands-on activities such as making crafts, playing games, watching a movie, or enjoying other fun and meaningful experiences. Each class ends with us all saying The Lord’s Prayer.
At Forks UCC, we support a young girl in Colombia named Maria. Our Sunday School class writes letters back and forth to her. All donations collected in Sunday School go to help her.
On Communion Sundays, we teach the lesson of communion in class and the children take part.
